What is a summer internship?
A summer internship is an opportunity to bring in students typically in their 2nd/3rd year of study for 10-12 weeks of work experience over the summer university break. The aim is to provide students with the opportunity to gain meaningful work experience and allow them to make an informed decision on their future career path.
The Programme
As part of the summer internship program students will spend a day in a central virtual induction, getting to know each other, learning a bit about Contact Energy and hearing from some of our people leaders. All interns will have the opportunity to connect weekly as a cohort and be enrolled in a learning pathway made up of eLearning modules to be completed in their own time over the course of the summer.
We will also run two masterclasses throughout the summer. The first will be a session with our graduates to hear about their experiences on the graduate development programme, the second will be with our Talent Acquisition team and focused on interview skills and CV writing. In the final week interns will present their experience and learnings to their peers and managers.
